November ramblings...

I know it has been a while since I last posted, but a lot has been happening. So much that it is hard to put it all down. David turned 5 on August 28 and started Kindergarten in September and Alison turned 3 on September 19. My business has been on a roller coaster ride thanks to the economy. Luckily I still get a paycheck and I am still paying all the bills. We have had a small change in personnel at the office with the loss of a great Massage Therapist and the hiring of her replacement. Duncan's office (PCI/PAS) continues to be very productive in the Commercial Construction and Abatement in this area, although it is slowing down now that it is winter.

Now that I am closer to home (Wenatchee), I have been reminiscing a lot and wondering what all of my old buddies have been up to. I sure do miss having them in my life. I know things change, but a nice walk down memory lane would be nice every once in a while, and maybe the possibility of rekindling old friendships.

On the other hand, we have made some great friends here in Vancouver. Abbie and Maddie Howell have been a wonderful addition to our little family. Abbie works with Duncan and her daughter Maddie is adored by us all. The kids have become best friends with a brother and sister they used to go to daycare with. Colby and Cassie Loper are the cutest kids, besides my own, and we are lucky to have become great friends with their parents Joe and Carmen. David sees Colby everyday at school, but they were not luck
y enough to have the same teacher this year. Alison has since changed day care centers and is not longer able to see Cassie a lot so we like to have play dates on occasion. We spent Halloween with the Loper family and had a great time trick-or-treating their neighborhood.

I will keep you posted with the new happenings as quickly as I can. TTYL! BTW... Enjoy the pictures.

Reflections of a mother....

I woke up this morning and wondered where the time has gone. I noticed the little wrinkles starting to form around my mouth and eyes, and the grey hairs that need to be died to match my beautiful brown hair. I'm not so sure I am ready to get older. David will be in Kindergarten in a few weeks, and my baby girl turns 3 on September 19 and I can no longer truly call her a baby. That makes me want to cry. I wish that I could stop time from moving so fast. It feels like just yesterday that I was climbing the tree in my parents' front yard (which is no longer there) and scratching up my knees and not caring what other people thought about what I was wearing or how messy my hair was. The joys of child hood are gone and have been replaced with the responsibility of paying the mortgage, making sure there is food on the table and gas in the car. I just wish that I could go back in time for one day and re-live the carefree life of a child. I can only hope to enjoy the awesomeness of childhood through my children's experiences and watch in awe as they learn and grow.

Here are a few of D's best pics from his portfolio. We just picked them up yesterday in Seattle at his agency.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know it has been a while since I last updated my blog, but life has been busy.  Things are going GREAT at my office.  I now have 3 employees (massage therapists) and a massage therapist that rents a room part time.  I had my best week last week and hope to see it continue to get better.

As I promised, I have pictures of the furniture that I refinished for Alison's bed room.  The Armoire is still missing it's doo
rs due to the cold weather, but you will get the idea.  They have been done for a while now, but I haven't been able to post, so here they are.
We had fun on Hallowe
en with our friends Abbie and Maddie, and David and Alison's
friends, Colby and Cassie.  They were all great trick or treaters and we still have the candy to show for it.  I think we will still have it come Easter, they did so well.

We have gone to Birthday parties galore and David and I even took a trip to Seattle the middle of October so that he could take his first set of professional modeling pics for his comp cards and portfolio.  We should be picking them up soon, which hopefully means he will be booking photo shoots shortly.
Keep your fingers crossed.
Duncan and I also took a trip to Vegas on PCG.  The branch did so well last year they gave all the PCI/PAS Vancouver employees and their spouses a trip to Fabulous Las Vegas.  We had lots of fun.  Everything was paid for and we never dipped into our own pockets.  Thanks PCG.  We look forward to another one next year!

GO COUGS!

We had family pictures taken on 9/7/08 and these are the results. David turned 4 on August 28, Duncan turned 33 on September 1, and Alison will be 2 on September 19. The multitude of birthdays gave us a chance to take a family photo that was well over due.

We have all been enjoying the last few days of summer while the weather is still warm enough to play outside. David got a new bike with training wheels for his birthday, so we have been going on bike rides whenever the chance arises.

Alison will be getting a new set of bedroom furniture and a big girl bed for her birthday. I am currently in the process of refinishing a few dressers given to me by my sister that so far look great with a new coat of paint. One dresser/ hutch down and one armoire to go. I will post before and after photos as soon as they are finished.
