Playgrounds and Backyards

Boy have we had fun now that the sun has finally decided to make its appearance and stay for a while. Every chance we get we are playing at a park or in the back yard having fun. I am so glad it is finally summer. There are so many more things to do now to keep the kiddos occupied.

More news on the business front. I have finally signed a lease agreement for my very own office. No more sharing with other doctors! I will finally be on my own and have my own employees to keep track of. We are in the process of getting all of the "permits and fees" taken care of so that I may start to see patients there by the middle of July. There is a little painting that needs to be done, and we still have to move all of my stuff in, but that should only take a week or so to do. Once it is all said and done, I will post pictures of my new place for all to see ...so keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks.

Playing at Salmon Creek Elementary School

We've been trying to have fun despite the nasty winter weather we have been having this month. The news station has officially termed this month Juneuary. I don't think we've had more than 2 days without rain and above 65 degrees. What a boring summer this is going to be if it keeps up.

Every chance we get we are outside with the kids, and here are a few pictures to prove it.

Another weekend of fun.

We spent most of Sunday at the Oregon Zoo with our friend Abbie and her daughter Maddie. We had lots of fun just hanging out and enjoying a rain free day. No sun, no rain = fun! The day was perfect. We took lots of pictures, walked alot, and fed the female Peacock. David calls them...peahawks. We also spent Saturday at one of my patients farms that they are slowly turning into a retreat/ Wedding/ Party property. They have done a great job in their first phase (year) of a five year project. They too had peacocks, but they had one I had never seen before. Have you ever seen an albino peacock? Me neither, until this weekend. Talk about beautiful!

Fun in the sun

Here are a few pictures I took a few weeks back when we actually had some nice weather. We took the kids, mainly David, to Dozer Days. David had a blast working the controls of a Backhoe while the rest of us melted in the sweltering heat. We all came away with a minor sun burn even with the use of Sunscreen. Then we came home and played in the pool and had popscicles. That was one hot day. I think it reached 98 degrees and it hasn't seen much over 70 since. Needless to say, the kids slept really well that night.

Sorry about not keeping up with the Joneses

I have been bad at keeping the site up to date lately, but now that summer is here and we will be doing lots of fun things, there will be more updates I promise. Just a little glimmer of what's to come....

David is Modeling! That's right... I said Modeling. He has a site at www.mychildmodels.com/portfolio/David32640 if you want to check it out. He only has a few pictures up right now and hasn't booked a photo shoot yet, but we are working on it. His site just came up this week! We are also in the process of signing him with a National/Worldwide agency as we speak. I just got his acceptance letter yesterday. They will be providing him with his photos for his portfolio, another website and they will actively seek out jobs for him. He is sooo excited. He woke up this morning saying he wanted to go model today. We practiced poses last night and he did ok, but Scooby-Doo was on TV so he was more interested in it than in practicing. Tomorrow we will be taking amature photos with me behind the camera, but if they don't turn out well, then we will schedule with a photographer to get some good shots. I sure do wish I had paid more attention in my photography class in high school.

My practice is growing steadily... but I'm just not as happy in my current location as I thought I would be when I moved in here. Many issues have come up in the last few months that have slowly started to snowball into even bigger issues and it just might be time for me to strike out on my own and try it solo again. I have confidence that success is just around the corner. It has been much harder to have a thriving practice than I had expected when I began a year and a half ago. Now I undersatnd why so many Chiropractors fail within the first year. I keep asking myself "is the stress really worth it?" then I see my student loan bills and the answer is yes... at least until those loans are paid off, and by then I will be sitting pretty anyway and I won't have this much stress any more.

Duncan's job on the other hand is doing fantastic! The branch is having a record year and it looks like we may be having a VERY merry christmas this year. They have been raking in the work and it has more than made up for the huge loss they had last year with their job at WSU and a few others.

Thank Goodness I'm a chiropractor!
